  • Is the Placement and Career Center the same as the TLA Jobline?
    No. The Placement and Career Center is the onsite “employment service’ which is offered once a year at the TLA Annual Conference.

  • Does the Placement and Career Center operate in conjunction with the TLA Jobline?
    Yes. TLA will use the existing Jobline information in addition to Placement and Career Center listings posted before and during conference. After conference the Jobline will continue to operate as an online service. Employers are welcome to delete job openings from the Jobline if the position is no longer available after the close of conference.

  • Who can use the conference Placement and Career Center?

    Job Seekers: A job seeker is anyone who is looking for a job. There is no fee for job seekers who are registered for the TLA conference to use the Placement and Career Center. Job seekers may use their own laptops or go to the Placement and Career Center to use one of the computers there in order to login and view listings of available positions.

    Employers: Employers are institutions with job openings within the State of Texas. Employers must have a position registered with the Jobline/Placement and Career Center in order to gain access to the computer listings of job seekers. Employers may use their own laptops or go to the Placement and Career Center to use one of the computers there in order to login and view listings of job seekers.

  • Is conference registration required to use the Placement and Career Center?
    No, conference registration is not required, but job seekers and employers who are not registered, or registered onsite, must check in with a Placement and Career Center volunteer to access the system.

  • Posting Resumes
    Job seekers may upload their resume in Word or PDF format after they submit a job seeker form with at least the basic information in the top section completed. Seekers may also send resumes to an employer via email.
