Position: Social Sciences Liaison Librarian

Position Description: Supports social science programs at UT Tyler including anthropology, communication, criminal justice, economics, history, geography, government, philosophy & religion, political science, public administration, and sociology. Provides a full range of information support to students and faculty for student success, teaching, and research.

-Engages in proactive liaison, outreach, and communications with assigned academic departments.
-Develops professional relationships with faculty to assess and respond to research and teaching needs.
-Provides research consultations and reference services in-person and virtually to students, faculty, and staff.
-Develops and provides specialized online and in-person information literacy and library resource instruction.
-Creates online guides and digital or physical exhibitions to promote resources.
-Selects materials in coordination with the Head of Electronic Resources & Collection Development.
-Engages in activities that contribute to the advancement of the Libraries, the university, and the library profession.
-Maintains awareness of professional developments, issues, and practices that positively impact one's performance and service contributions.
-Coordinates the library outreach, marketing, and promotion program.

Required Education: Master of Library and Information Science or equivalent (ALA Accredited)
Required Experience: Background in social science-related area preferred.
Education background in pedagogy preferred.
Experience in social sciences-related area preferred.
Experience in an academic library preferred.
