Position: Research & Assessment Librarian

Position Description: The Research & Assessment Librarian, under general supervision, serves as a member of the Research & Assessment department. This individual will participate in the library’s information literacy program and facilitate and design the library’s assessment activities in collaboration with librarians and other library staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Teach and promote the library’s instructional program based on goals and strategies derived from professional library standards and frameworks for information literacy.

Collaborate with others and work individually to produce and maintain a variety of informational and instructional materials such as online tutorials and reference guides.

Collaborate with university faculty, staff, and students to promote and integrate information literacy.

Facilitate and assist in the design of assessment activities in collaboration with librarians and library staff.

Assist in the development of assessment strategies for the library's instructional program in collaboration with librarians in Research & Assessment.

Conduct research consultations.

Serve as the library contact for University related assessment activities

Serve as a liaison to academic departments.

Attend meetings, participate in special projects, and serve on committees relating to the library, the University, and consortia, as necessary.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education: Master’s degree in Library Science or equivalent degree from an ALA-accredited institution.
