Position Description: The Research Librarian provides research assistance to students, faculty, and community members in person, by phone and chat. Contributes to the creation and maintenance of the library's research guides (LibGuides). Provides library instruction in person as needed. May participate in the embedded librarian program, including maintaining relevant records and statistics. Participates in Qualitative Research Team activities and in library survey and assessment activities. Offers and assists in implementing ideas that enhance the effectiveness of library resources and services. Serves as a library liaison for designated academic areas, including outreach to faculty for their suggestions and requests. Attends conferences, workshops, and other events for professional development. Models and encourages information literacy principles and best practices. This position receives general direction from the Director of Library Services and exercises no supervision.

Required Education: Master's Degree from an American Library Association accredited college or university with major coursework in Library and/or Information Science.
Required Experience: More than one year of professional work experience.

Special Instructions: Knowledge of: 1. Electronic database resources and library technology. 2. Electronic technology and its applications. 3. Applied computer applications in general and of Microsoft Office software products in particular. 4. Theory, techniques, guidelines and selection tools necessary for selection and maintenance of print and electronic resources at the community college level. 5.
