Position Description: Under administrative direction of the City Manager, the Library Manager is to direct, manage, supervise, and coordinate the programs and activities of the library. Coordinate assigned activities with other City departments, divisions, and provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to the City Manager.

Required Education: Master's degree in Library Science from a college or university accredited by the American Library Association. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid driver's license and have a good driving record. Ability to obtain a County Librarian's Certificate issued by the Texas State Library.
Required Experience: Five years of responsible professional public library experience. Knowledge of operational characteristics, services and activities of a library program, management skills to analyze programs, policies and operational needs; principles and practices of library science, business management, program development, and administration; computers and their applications to libraries; Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations; principles and practices of municipal budget preparation, administration, characteristics, services and activities of a library program. Ability to prepare clear and concise administrative and financial reports both orally and in writing. Knowledge of principles of supervision, training, and performance administration. Ability to select, supervise, train and evaluate staff.
