Position Description:
A supervisor of the Media Center within the library and coordinator of library services to distance education students, the Electronic Access Media Librarian is responsible for the maintenance, inventory, and servicing of non-print materials and equipment as well as the supplies used in the care and maintenance of all materials and equipment, as well as providing access and training in the use of library resources for distance education students. Will be required to maintain budgets for the department's accounts. Work at the reference desk as assigned on a non-traditional rotating schedule, and assist patrons in the use of non-print materials and equipment. Will assist faculty and administration by producing instructional support audiovisual materials and by down-linking and recording video teleconferences and other satellite television programming. Reports to the Associate University Librarian.

Required Education: A Master's Degree in Library/Information Science from an ALA accredited program or a Master's Degree in Educational Technology or related field.
Required Experience: Highly desirable to have library reference experience at the College/University level. Some training and/or experience working with computers and software programs used in digital imaging, publishing, database, and word processing programs is preferred as is experience working with nonprint materials, audiovisual and computer equipment.
Knowledge:
To be flexible and to cooperate with other library staff members in performing any duty essential to the operation of the library. Be well organized and able to effectively communicate to others. Ability to follow emerging trends in technology and determine their efficacy in relation to the Media Library. Understand the role of the Media Library in the overall education of the university student.Computer literacy including digital imaging and desktop publishing required. Strong interpersonal skills as well as oral/written communication skills required. Familiarity with a variety of audio visual and telecommunications equipment required. *Regular reliable attendance is required. *This position is designated as security sensitive (Mod) and requires a criminal background check.
